Reverend Cody Mills grew up in Southwest Iowa, graduating from his local public school. Before his senior year in high school, he enlisted in the United States Army on active duty. He completed a tour in Iraq during the 2003 Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

After completing his time in the United States Army, he graduated from the University of St. Mary with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences. He owned his own computer business in Battle Lake, MN, for nearly ten years before selling the business to attend seminary. He left the Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America to join the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.

Rev. Cody Mills graduated with a Master of Divinity (M.Div) from the Institute of Lutheran Theology in 2020. His focus was on biblical text in Hebrew and New Testament Greek.

He reminds people that he is not the Pastor but the person God charges to take care of the congregation at Abiding Word Lutheran Church.

 

Reverend Cody is rostered with the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ and the Augustana District.
